Unit Public Affairs Representatives play a critical role in Michigan’s public affairs mission. The small headquarters staff simply can’t cover every event, thus we count on UPARs, with unit-level expertise, to help tell the Michigan National Guard story.
Our goal is to make the process of submitting a story, photo, or hometown news release as simple as possible to encourage not only UPARs but other Soldiers, Airmen and connected staff, to share information about Guard events and individual accomplishments.
In alignment with Department of Defense standardization protocol (dsa.dla.mil) we will be using DD Form 2266 for collecting hometown news release information. Other forms and materials will be replaced with DoD standards as they become available.
The basic functions of a UPAR include submitting unit news to JFHQ public affairs office, escorting media during unit training or other events and other tasks associated with telling the Michigan National Guard story.
Submit all forms and request to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will reach out to you regarding your request as soon as possible.
